Israel Homers, Fans 12 in Complete-Game Win Over DuPage

A big day at the plate and on the mound by Silas Israel (Tremont, Ill./Tremont) on Sunday helped the Carl Sandburg College baseball team close the weekend with a victory to salvage a doubleheader split with DuPage. That came a day after the Chargers dropped a pair of contests Saturday at South Suburban.

Israel fanned 12 while allowing six hits and walking just one in a complete-game victory. The lefthander threw 74 of his 117 pitches for strikes. He also connected for a fourth-inning home run, going 2 for 4 with two RBIs.
